Collection: Range Overview
In the Dusken collection, shelving and storage units are more than containers for objects – they are architectural elements that shape the experience of space.
They define edges, establish rhythm, and introduce a hierarchy of surfaces – foreground, background, display, concealment.

DUSKEN, OBJECT & SPACE
While descriptors like bookcase, column, or side table are useful, we primarily consider our pieces through their spatial attributes.
The following characteristics define how each piece influences the space it inhabits — each existing on a spectrum, and all
inherently interconnected.

POINT & PLANE
Points radiate; planes divide.
A point acts as a spatial anchor – a focal presence around which space can flow evenly.
Planes create thresholds and boundaries. Freestanding, they partition; wall-mounted, they soften division while still shaping movement and sightlines.

SYMMETRY
Symmetry provides stability. Its flat sides form firm thresholds and sit comfortably against walls.
Asymmetry invites a more autonomous relationship with space – introducing lightness, motion, and a sense of openness. Tapered edges soften transitions, allowing for gentler spatial flow.

SCALE
The larger the piece, the more it shapes the space around it.
Dusken’s more substantial forms can define entire rooms – setting thresholds, creating partitions, and guiding movement. Smaller pieces, by contrast, act more like punctuation: subtle, and precise.

HEIGHT & LENGTH
Low, elongated pieces stretch the space — drawing the eye outward, grounding a room, and supporting visual calm. These forms often define horizontal flow within open plans.
Tall pieces, by contrast, pull the eye upward. They introduce vertical rhythm, create layered sightlines, and can activate a space with presence and lift.

DUSKEN CATALOGUE
Our catalogue demonstrates the versatility of the H-System — our adaptable framework for made-to-order furniture.
Each diagram represents a proposed configuration, ready to be commissioned. These are possibilities, not endpoints —
the system invites reinterpretation.
We welcome collaboration. Our design service supports tailored adaptations as well as one-off, bespoke pieces.

BOOKCASES
Spanning from narrow dividers to broad surfaces, these pieces embody the plane — the second fundamental form in spatial thinking.
They rest against walls, define space side-on, or stand freely. Their quiet utility makes them some of Dusken's most adaptable pieces.

BOOKCASES - ASYMMETRICAL
Breaking from repetition, these pieces explore spatial tension, massing, and movement.
At once functional and gestural, their asymmetrical forms open possibilities for corner activation, and placement perpendicular to walls.

SIDE TABLES
While larger pieces are often experienced in passing or from afar, these compact compositions invite closer, more sustained encounters.
At this intimate scale and proximity, Dusken’s detailing and finish can be appreciated with steady attention.

CREDENZAS AND CONSOLES
Defined by their longer, lower proportions, these pieces exert a quiet influence – anchoring walls, stretching sightlines, and inviting balance.
Often experienced at eye level when seated, they offer surface, storage, and spatial rhythm.

COLUMNS
The most universal and versatile piece in the Dusken collection, the Column represents the most fundamental spatial element: the axis.
It can serve as a focal point, a quiet marker beside a doorway, or a subtle presence tucked into a corner.
